I have always had an interest in how things work. I remember back when I was growing up, I'd be staying at my grandparents' house looking for something to do. I'd go ask my grandma if she had anything I could take apart. She'd usually come back with an old coffee maker, an iron or hairdryer that didn't work anymore. I'd go out to the barn, get a screwdriver (or a hammer if necessary) and go to "work" on it. Back then, the items I "worked" on didn't usually operate properly when I was done. As I got older, that changed...thankfully.
The desire for knowledge about functions, systems and processes is still strong within me today. It has given me the ability to problem-solve and develop solutions very quickly. The first computer I ever owned was taken apart and put back together within a few weeks after it was purchased. That led to a whole new field to explore. Although I did not have much knowledge of computers at the time, I had a good bit of knowledge about technology in general. I am a musician. In the field of music, you usually have to learn about speakers, sound mixers, amplifiers and such. I also had a great influence and resource for electronics and electricity while I was growing up. My dad was a licensed and bonded electrician who had his own electrical business for a while.
Having said all of that, I look back on all the preparation I've had, all the resources at my disposal and all the people who have influenced me in the field of technology - I am thankful for all of it. It has placed me in a position to be able to re-launch my technology business and go forward with a new chapter in my life. In the past, this has always been a "side job" for me for extra income. Now, the time has come to apply this knowledge and experience to a full-time business.
My wife, Traci, has been instrumental in encouraging me to make this step. I am thankful for her and the gifts that she has to contribute in this business venture. I would not be able to do this without her.
